How to clean and peel bell peppers

Originally from America, bell peppers have been grown throughout Europe for centuries now. Here are a few tips for how to clean them.




Ingredients for 4 people


1 bell pepper
salt


Preparation

Using a knife, remove the stalk of the pepper, then cut in half.

Remove the seeds and pith inside.

Rinse to remove any remaining seeds, then use it in the preparation of your choice.

If your recipe calls for a cooked, peeled pepper, brush it with oil and cook in oven at high temperature for about 30 minutes, making sure to rotate it over from time to time.

Once the skin of the pepper is well cooked, turn off the oven and place the hot pepper in a plastic grocery bag.

Tie the ends so that the steam helps the skin to come off more easily.

Once the pepper has cooled, cut it in half, remove the stalk and the seeds and filaments inside and peel away the skin.

Slice it and use it as you please.
