Pastina

There are few children in Italy who do not grow up eating Pastina, the classic tiny pasta stars that parents first serve as a child’s introduction to the delicious world of pasta.

1
Here in America, parents choose Barilla Pastina for their young children because it is made from 100% highest quality durum wheat; is enriched with essential nutrients, such as thiamin, iron, riboflavin and niacin; and is easily digested. Grown-ups love the deliciously nutty flavor of Barilla Pastina, too, especially in soups and simple broths.

01. Bring 4 - 6 quarts of water to a rolling boil, add salt to taste.
02. Add contents of package to boiling water. Stir gently.
03. Return to a boil. For authentic "al dente" pasta, boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 6 minutes. For more tender pasta, boil an additional 1 minute.
04. Remove from heat. Drain well.
For use in soups: Since pasta will continue to cook in the soup, undercook by 1 - 2 minutes.
