Ingredients for 4 people


2 cups Flour
3/4 teaspoon Salt
2 1/2 teaspoons Dry Yeast
5 tablespoons Butter Melted
2 7/8 cups Sugar Divided
6 Large Eggs Beaten
4 cups Water
18 tablespoons Rum



Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350ºf

2. combine flour, salt, yeast, butter, 1/3 cup sugar and eggs in a large mixing bowl

3. mix on low speed until smooth

4. Place paper liners into a 12 muffin pan

5. Spoon mixture into pans filling each half full

6. Let rise in warm place covered until doubled in size

7. Bake at 350ºf 20 to 25 minutes or until golden and crispy on the outside

8. Cool completely

9. Remove wrappers from cakes

10. Rum syrup: combine remaining ingredients in a medium saucepan

11. Bring mixture to a boil

12. Remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes

13. Immerse cakes in syrup for 5 to 10 minutes or until completely soaked

14. Remove before cakes begin to break
