BARILLA Elbows with Salami and Garlic Croutons

Ingredients for 4 people

1 box BARILLA Elbows
4 strips bacon cut in thick chunks
1 medium size shallot chopped
2 tomatoes chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2 slices Italian bread cubed
2 cloves garlic minced
1/4 lb. salami thinly sliced
Parmesan cheese grated to taste
8 basil leaves julienne cut

Preparation 25 minutes preparation + 15 minutes cooking
1. COOK the bacon in a frying pan

2. ADD the shallots and cook until they are golden brown, and then add the tomatoes, salt and pepper

3. LOWER the heat and cook for about 3 minutes

4. In another frying pan, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil

5. ADD bread cubes, garlic and salt and pepper to taste

6. SAUTÉ until bread cubes are golden brown

7. COOK Barilla Elbows following the instructions on the box

8. Once ready, drain and combine with the salami, then the sauce

9. GARNISH with the toasted bread cubes, Parmesan cheese and basil

10. Serve
