Ingredients for 8 people


1 BOX Barilla® Mezze Penne
1 JAR Barilla® Marinara Sauce
4 TABLESPOONS Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 CUP Shallots Diced
3 CUPS Button Mushrooms Sliced
1/2 CUP Ricotta Cheese
10 LEAVES Fresh Basil Julienne



Preparation 10 minutes preparation + 10 minutes cooking
1. BRING a large pot of water to a boil

2. HEAT olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat

3. Add shallots and sauté 5 minutes or until translucent

4. ADD mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes

5. Season mixture with salt and pepper to taste

6. ADD Marinara Sauce and ricotta cheese to skillet; mix well and simmer for 4 minutes

7. COOK Mezze Penne according to package directions

8. Drain and toss with sauce

9. Toss with chopped basil
