Ingredients for 8 people


1 BOX Barilla® Mostaccioli
4 TABLESPOONS Extra Virgin Olive Oil
4 CUPS Red Onions Sliced Thin
28-OUNCES Peeled San Marzano Plum Tomatoes Canned
12 LEAVES Fresh Basil Chopped
1/3 CUP Smoked Mozzarella Cheese Cubed
TO TASTE Salt
1/4 TEASPOON Red Chili Pepper Flakes



Preparation 10 minutes preparation + 35 minutes cooking
1. BRING a large pot of water to a boil

2. HEAT olive oil in large skillet over low heat

3. Sauté onions for about 15 minutes or until softened

4. ADD tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes

5. Season with salt and pepper to taste

6. Set aside

7. ADD Mostaccioli to boiling water

8. Cook according to package directions

9. HEAT sauce through while pasta is cooking

10. DRAIN pasta

11. Immediately add hot pasta to sauce

12. Add basil and smoked mozzarella cheese

13. Mix well
