Ingredients for 4 people


8 cups flour
10 eggs
¾ cup sugar
2/3 cup (5 ounces) lard
¼ cup anise liqueur
¾ cup honey
1 packet baking powder
oil for frying as needed
1 pinch salt



Preparation 30 minutes preparation + 5 minutes cooking
1. In a large bowl, mix seven whole eggs and three egg yolks, sugar, lard, anise liqueur and a pinch of salt

2. Add flour a little at a time, mixing continuously to form a smooth, firm dough

3. Add baking powder and allow to rest, covered, for one hour

4. Roll out the dough about ½ inch thick and cut out stars, circles and sticks

5. Fry a few at a time in hot oil

6. Drain on paper towels

7. Dissolve honey in a half cup of water and simmer for about ten minutes

8. Pour the mixture on the fritters, mixing gently
