Wash the tomatoes, remove the seeds and cut the tomatoes into thin slices. Put the tomatoes in a large salad bowl with the oil, the fresh basil leaves torn into rough pieces, the peeled and finely chopped garlic, salt and pepper and mix.

Meanwhile, cook the pasta in a large pot of lightly salted boiling water for the time indicated on the package. Drain the pasta and add it to the bowl, mixing well before serving. Whole-grain cellentani pasta can be used in place of fusilli bucati corti.
