Ingredients for 4 people


2 cups chopped almonds
unpeeled 14 tablespoons butter 1 cup sugar 7 ounces dark chocolate 6 eggs Crème de cacao or Strega liqueur to taste (optional) 1/2 teaspoon baking powder



Preparation 15 minutes preparation + 50 minutes cooking
1. Soften butter to room temperature (about 30 minutes)

2. Whip sugar and butter until creamy, add beaten eggs and combine

3. Stir in finely chopped almonds and melted chocolate (melt with a double-boiler)

4. Add baking powder and a dash of liqueur

5. Butter an 11-inch round baking dish lined with foil and pour in mixture

6. Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 50 minutes

7. Turn out cake on a serving platter and dust with confectioner’s sugar
