Whether it’s a special occasion like Valentine’s Day or you just want to show someone how much you love them, this is a recipe you must whip up! It’s Barilla Heart Shaped Pasta with a Spicy Shrimp Pomodoro sauce, and it’s guaranteed to add a touch of heat to any plate, thanks to the Calabrian pepper!  

Ingredients 6 Number of Servings

1 box Barilla Heart Shaped Love Pasta (or Barilla pasta shape of choice)

3 tsp extra virgin olive oil

1 lb 21-25 ct. peeled, deveined shrimp

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp Calabrian pepper, chopped

1 pint of cherry tomatoes, halved

2 cups San Marzano tomatoes, crushed

3 tbsp butter, soft

1 tsp Tuscan seasoning, divided

2 oz spinach

2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, grated

Sea salt and Black pepper to taste

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook Barilla Love Heart Shaped pasta according to package directions.

  • Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat add olive oil and garlic. Sauté for 15-30 seconds then add shrimp, ½ of the Tuscan seasoning, and Calabrian pepper. Sauté for 2-3 minutes then add cherry tomatoes. 

  • Sauté for 30 seconds then add San Marzano tomatoes, butter, and remaining Tuscan seasoning. 

  • Drain pasta and add to the sauce with spinach and ½ of the cheese. Toss well and top with remaining cheese.
