1 box Barilla® Lasagne pasta

4 tbsp (60 mL) extra virgin olive oil

1 diced medium onion

1 lb (454 g) Italian sausage

½ cup (125 mL) white wine (optional)

5.5 cups (35 ounces) marinara sauce

15 oz (444 mL) container fresh ricotta

1 cup (340 g) mozzarella cheese, diced

½ cup (170 g) Parmigiano-Reggiano (reserve 1 tbsp for top)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 ˚F.
  • Boil Barilla Lasagne Pasta for 8 min, drain; set aside.

  • In a skillet, sauté onions with olive oil until translucent.

  • Repeat 2 more layers. On the top layer, pour the remaining sauce and Parmigiano.
  • Add sausage, salt, pepper, brown well until cooked and crumbly.

  • Add wine (optional) and cook until liquid has reduced by half.
  • Add 3 ½ cups marinara sauce to the mixture and bring to boil.

  • Pour 1 cup of sauce in a 9” by 13” baking dish, cover with 5 sheets of lasagne, 1 cup of sausage mixture, ½ cup ricotta and 2 tbsp Parmigiano.
