Ingredients for 8 people       

  • 1 BOX Barilla® Penne Lisce
  • 1 JAR tomato & basil sauce
  • 1 TABLESPOON (15 mL) Extra Virgin Olive Oil 
  • 1 CUP (340 g) Onion Diced
  • 3 SLICES Bacon Chopped
  • 3 CLOVES Garlic Minced 
  • 15-OUNCES (425 g) Ricotta Cheese
  • 1/4 CUP (85 g) Fresh Basil Chopped
  • 1 CUP (250 mL) Water
  • 1 TEASPOON (5 mL) Salt
  • 1/8 TEASPOON (1/2 mL) Black Pepper Freshly Ground

Instructions

    HEAT oil in skillet over medium heat

    SAUTÉ onion, bacon, and garlic 5 minutes or until bacon is cooked
  3. 3
    REMOVE from heat
  4. 4
    ADD ricotta, basil, water, salt and pepper
  5. 5
    WARM sauce in a saucepan
  6. 6
    COOK pasta according to package directions; drain
  7. 7
    ADD sauce to skillet; stirring until blended
  8. 8
    POUR sauce mixture over hot pasta and toss
  9. 9
    TRANSFER to a serving platter or bowl
  10. 10
    SERVE with remaining sauce
