With smooth and al dente Barilla Penne Lisce, rich pancetta, and an abundance of mushrooms, this quick and easy dinner recipe is an umami lover’s dream.
Ingredients 5 Number of Servings
1 box Barilla Penne Lisce pasta
4 oz pancetta, diced
2 garlic cloves, chopped
4 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
250g mushrooms, sliced
2 cups tomato puree
¼ cup basil, sliced
½ cup Parmigiano cheese, shredded

Place a pot of water to boil; cook Barilla Penne Lisce pasta al dente, according to packaging directions.

Meanwhile in a skillet sauté pancetta until rendered and crispy, discard liquid and set pancetta aside. In the same skillet sauté garlic with olive oil for 1 minute, add mushrooms and brown, about five minutes.

Stir in tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and bring to simmer, cook for 10 minutes.

Drain Barilla Penne Lisce pasta and toss with sauce and pancetta 6. Top with basil and cheese before serving.
