Looking for the best pesto recipe? You won’t need further convincing after trying this quick and easy Barilla Spaghetti pasta in pesto sauce. This homemade basil pesto recipe is the traditional italian recipe. 

Ingredients 5 Number of Servings

1 box Barilla Spaghetti pasta

6 tbsp (100 ml) extra virgin olive oil

1 clove of garlic

6 tbsp Parmigiano cheese, grated

2 tbsp pecorino Romano cheese, grated

2 cups fresh basil leaves, rinsed and dried

3 tbsp (30 g) pine nuts

TT Salt and black pepper

Instructions

  • Place a pot of water to boil, cook Barilla Spaghetti pasta al dente, according to directions. 

  • Meanwhile add pine nuts, garlic, salt, pepper, and basil in the food processor cup. Pulse multiple times until roughly chopped. Stir in 3 ice cubes, keep processing while drizzling in olive oil. Turn off, fold in cheeses. 

  • Place in a bowl, dilute with ¼ cup pasta cooking water.

  • Drain Barilla Spaghetti pasta and fold in pesto, mix thoroughly before serving.
