A traditional Italian recipe dish made with al dente Barilla Spaghettini, shrimp and spice, all coming together to create a delicious contrast between the sweetness of the shellfish and the savoury spicy taste of the sauce. Not to mention, it's a quick & easy dinner idea, perfect for any night of the week!

Ingredients 5 Number of Servings

1 box Barilla Spaghettini pasta (410g)

4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, divided

2 cloves garlic, sliced

2 tsp red pepper flakes [or to taste]

3 cups canned peeled tomatoes

1 lb medium size shrimp, cleaned and cut lengthwise

1 tbsp chopped parsley

Instructions

  • Place a pot of water to boil. Meanwhile, in a skillet, sauté shrimp with 2 tbsp olive oil for two minutes, set aside on a plate.

  • In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil, garlic and red pepper flakes. Infuse over medium heat and when it starts frying, add peeled tomatoes, season with salt and bring to simmer.

  • Start cooking Barilla Spaghettini pasta, and halfway through add 1 cup of cooking water to the sauce, keep simmering.

  • Drain pasta one minute short of the recommended cook time and toss in the skillet with sauce and shrimp over high heat.
  • Stir in parsley before serving.
