Sweet and Spicy Barilla Heart Pasta

Ingredients 6 Number of Servings
1 box Barilla Heart Shaped Love Pasta (or Barilla pasta of choice)
1 cup marinara sauce
½ pint cherry tomatoes, halved
12 oz sweet Italian sausage
1 clove garlic, crushed
3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
½ onion, small diced
1 red pepper, small diced
1 yellow pepper, small diced
2 Calabrian peppers, sliced (optional)
½ cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated
1 tbsp parsley, chopped
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Bring a large pot of water to a boil, cook Barilla Love Heart Shaped Pasta according to package directions.

Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat add olive oil and cook sausage until brown.

Add onion, peppers, tomatoes, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.

Sauté until soft, 2-3 minutes.

Add Calabrian peppers to the desired spice level and Marinara sauce. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes.

Drain pasta and add to the sauce with ½ of the cheese. Mix well and top with remaining cheese. Garnish with parsley.
