Ingredients
Serves 6
1 | Box Barilla® Collezione Orecchiette |
25 | Each mussels |
½ | Cup white wine |
5 | Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil |
1 | Garlic clove sliced thin |
To taste | Red pepper flakes |
½ | Bunch rapini (broccoli rabe) boiled drained and roughly chopped |
½ | Cup Romano cheese |

Method
Step 1
Steam mussels with wine in a small pot covered with a lid until they are all opened and cooked through, about five minutes.
Step 2
Discard 2/3 of the shells but reserve the released liquid.
Step 3
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Step 4
Cook pasta according to package directions.
Step 5
Meanwhile sauté garlic with olive oil and red pepper.
Step 6
When garlic starts to turn slightly yellow add rapini and sauté well.
Step 7
Add mussels, 1/3 shells and bring to a boil in their cooking liquid.
Step 8
Drain pasta, stir with rapini mixture, and finish with Romano cheese before serving.
