Bring a large pot of water to a boil; cook pasta according to package directions.
Meanwhile, in a skillet sauté onion for two minutes with 1 tablespoon of olive oil from the top of the jar of pesto.
Add peas and cream, bring to a boil and season with a bit of black pepper.
Drain pasta and toss with creamy sauce, stir in pesto and cheese, mix well, and serve immediately.
