Ingredients for 8 people      

  • 1 BOX Barilla® Mezze Penne
  • 1 JAR Barilla® Marinara Sauce
  • 4 TABLESPOONS Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 CUP Shallots Diced
  • 3 CUPS Button Mushrooms Sliced
  • 1/2 CUP Ricotta Cheese
  • 10 LEAVES Fresh Basil Julienne

Instructions

    BRING a large pot of water to a boil

    HEAT olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat
  3. 3
    Add shallots and sauté 5 minutes or until translucent
  4. 4
    ADD mushrooms and cook for 3-4 minutes
  5. 5
    Season mixture with salt and pepper to taste
  6. 6
    ADD Marinara Sauce and ricotta cheese to skillet; mix well and simmer for 4 minutes
  7. 7
    COOK Mezze Penne according to package directions
  8. 8
    Drain and toss with sauce
  9. 9
    Toss with chopped basil
