Barilla® Ziti

with Fresh Spinach, Pancetta & Barilla® Marinara Sauce

Ingredients for 8 people

  • 1 box Barilla® Ziti
  • 1 jar Barilla® Marinara Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup pancetta, sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 cup onion, small diced
  • 1 6oz-bag fresh spinach
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil, meanwhile in a 12 inch skillet add olive oil and pancetta then cook for 2-3 minutes or until the pancetta has rendered out a bit.

    Add the onions and cook for 3-4 minutes until they are opaque.

    Add the garlic and sauté for 1 minute then add the spinach and sauté an additional minute. De-glaze with white wine then season with salt and pepper to taste.

    Add the sauce and bring to a simmer.

    Cook the pasta 1 minute less than required cooking time, reserve ½ cup of the cooking water.

    Drain and combine the pasta with the sauce and cooking water.

    Remove the skillet from the heat and fold in the cheese.
