Barilla® ProteinPLUS® Penne

with Creamy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

Ingredients for 4 people      
  • 1 box Barilla® ProteinPLUS® Penne
  • ½ cup Barilla® Tomato & Basil Sauce
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon Red Chili Pepper Flakes
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup 2% milk
  • 1 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese freshly grated

Instructions

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil
  2. 2
    Cook pasta according to package directions
  3. 3
    Add broccoli during last 2 minutes of cooking time, then drain
  4. 4
    Heat olive oil in a large sauté pan
  5. 5
    Add Tomato & Basil Sauce, salt and red pepper flakes
  6. 6
    Simmer 2 minutes over medium heat
  7. 7
    Stir in milk, warm gently over low heat
  8. 8
    Remove from heat
  9. 9
    Add cheese and stir
  10. 10
    Toss sauce with pasta and broccoli
  11. 11
    Serve immediately
