Ingredients for 7 people
  • 1 box Barilla® ProteinPLUS® Rotini
  • 1 jar Barilla® Marinara sauce
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil divided
  • 1 garlic clove whole
  • 2 anchovies (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup black olives pitted and sliced into rounds
  • 2 tablespoons capers preferably in salt and rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon parsley chopped
  • sea salt to taste


  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil
  • In a skillet, sauté garlic in 2 tablespoons olive oil with anchovies and red pepper
  • Just before the garlic turns yellow, stir in sauce and ½ cup of water, simmer for five minutes
  • Add olives and capers, season with salt if needed
  • Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package directions
  • Drain pasta and toss with the sauce
  • Sprinkle with parsley and drizzle with olive oil before serving
