Whole Grain Elbow Pasta | Barilla



Ingredients for 8 people

  • 1 box Barilla® Whole Grain Elbows
  • 1 jar Barilla® Tuscan Herb Sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Pancetta, rendered
  • 1/4 cup Pine Nuts, toasted
  • 8 leaves Fresh Basil
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste


  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil
  • Meanwhile in 2 separate skillets, toast the pine nuts until lightly browned, about 5 minutes over medium heat
  • Sauté the pancetta until crispy
  • Remove from the skillet and drain on a paper towel
  • In a large sauce pan, heat the Barilla Tuscan Herb sauce and 1 cup of water, season with salt and pepper to taste
  • Cook the pasta according to package directions, drain and toss with the sauce
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and top with cheese, basil, pine nuts and pancetta
