Ingredients for 8 people
- 1 box Barilla® Whole Grain Penne
- ½ jar Barilla® Marinara sauce
- 1 clove garlic
- ¼ cup almonds
- ½ cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese grated, divided
- 3 cups fresh arugula
- ½ cup + 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- salt and black pepper to taste

Bring a large pot of water to a boil

In a small pan, gently heat the sauce
- Meanwhile, in a blender, add garlic, almonds, 1/4 cup cheese and arugula; pulse for 10 seconds
- Slowly drizzle in olive oil while pulsing and season with salt and pepper

Pour the pesto into a large bowl

COOK pasta according to package directions

Drain, reserving ½ cup of the cooking liquid
- Add the cooking liquid to the pesto

Add pasta and stir to combine

To serve, place a small amount of the warm Marinara sauce at the bottom of a bowl, top with a scoop of pasta and garnish with 1/4 cup cheese
