Barilla® Whole Grain Penne

with Italian Sausage, Mixed Mushrooms, Rosemary & Barilla® Chunky Traditional Sauce



Ingredients for 8 people

  • 1 box Barilla® Whole Grain Penne
  • 4 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic, chopped
  • 1 sprig fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 pound Italian Sausage
  • 1/2 cup White Wine
  • 1 package mixed muhrooms (4 oz.), chopped
  • 1 jar Barilla® Chunky Traditional Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Parmigiano Cheese, grated
  • 1 tablespoon parsley sliced thin

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta 1 minute less than the package directions

    Meanwhile, in a large skillet over low heat sauté the garlic and rosemary for 1 minute
  3. 3
    Add the Italian Sausage and over high heat cook until golden and brown
  4. 4
    Deglaze with white wine and reduce completely
  5. 5
    Add the chopped Mushrooms and sauce for 1 minute then season with salt and pepper to taste

    Add the sauce and 1/2 cup of water and bring to a simmer
  7. 7
    Drain and toss the pasta with the sauce, cook for 1 minute in the skillet
  8. 8
    Remove the pasta from the heat and toss with the cheese
