Ingredients for 7 people

  • 1 box Barilla® Whole Grain Penne
  • 1 jar Barilla® Mushroom Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion, sliced thin
  • 4 Zucchini, diced
  • 1/4 cup Red Wine
  • Salt and Black Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese, grated


  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil
  • Meanwhile, in a large skillet sauté onions in olive oil for 4 - 5 minutes or until translucent
  • Add zucchini and sauté for 5 minutes
  • Deglaze with wine and reduce completely
  • Add Mushroom Sauce and 1 cup water, bring to a simmer and season with salt and pepper
  • Cook the pasta according to package directions, drain and toss with the sauce
  • Top with cheese before serving
