Mostaccioli with Onions

Mostaccioli with Onions

First course

Ingredients for 4 people

1 box mostaccioli
1 medium onion
½ cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
¼ cup milk
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

Preparation 5 minutes preparation + 15 minutes cooking
1. Peel, wash and thinly slice onion

2. Arrange in a pan, season with a pinch of salt, cover and cook over very low heat for at least 10 minutes, so that it steams and becomes very soft

3. Remove the lid, add 2 tablespoons of milk and cook for a few more minutes, until the mixture is creamy but not dry and the onion has dissolved

4. Boil pasta in plenty of salted water until "al dente" and immediately toss with the onion sauce

5. Add grated Parmigiano and oil

6. Season with pepper and serve warm
