About Us

Our Company

WE ARE A FAMILY IN LOVE WITH GOOD FOOD

Our journey starts in Parma in 1877, as a small bread and pasta shop.

Today, 146 years later, our products can be found in more than 100 countries and have become icons in the food industry. Still we are family-owned, not listed on any stock exchange.

When Pietro Barilla opened his shop in Parma, his main concern was to produce good food. Today, this principle has become the foundation of Barilla's business. The three brothers, Guido, Luca and Paolo Barilla, have been running the now international company for over 30 years, adhering to their great-grandfather's vision of producing good quality food. This principle has evolved into a core business value:

The joy of good food for a better life.
Bringing people closer to the joy of good food and making quality the choice for a better life, from each individual to the planet.
Because this is how we are nurturing the future, today.

8,700 people work for the company and within its supply chain to uphold these core values and passion for quality, from the field to the plate. The Barilla Group's goal is to give people the joy of high-quality and carefully prepared food. All products are made with selected ingredients favoring those from responsible supply chains to contribute to a better present and future.

The joy of food for a better life

Bringing people closer to the joy of good food and making quality the choice for a better life, from each individual to the planet.
Because this is how we are nurturing the future, today.

It's a commitment from field to fork, to bring to the world tasty, joyful and wholesome products, made with selected raw materials from responsible supply chains.
Because what we eat today can change our tomorrow. Because good food is a joy for the present and a choice for a better future.

Our way of doing business

“The joy of food for a better life” is our purpose and expresses the foundation of our existence. It’s about us and our commitment for people and for the planet: offering wholesome products, made with high quality ingredients from sustainable supply chains.

Behind each strand of spaghetti, each biscuit or sauce there is a story made up of passion, quality, people and values. That’s why our sustainability journey tells our story and the story of our commitment to people and the world we live in, allowing access to food for a growing number of people, promoting inclusion and the development of local areas.
