Ingredients

Serves 5

1 box Barilla Capellini pasta
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 garlic clove, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 28-oz can tomatoes, strained
10 basil leaves, sliced
To taste salt and black pepper

Method

Step 1

Place a pot of water to boil. Cook Barilla Capellini pasta until al dente, according to package directions.

Step 2

In a skillet, infuse garlic with olive oil over medium heat for 2 minutes until it starts frying.

Step 3

Add peppers, sauté 3 minutes.

Step 4

Stir in tomatoes, bring to boil, season with salt and pepper.

Step 5

Add 1 cup pasta cooking water to tomato sauce, simmer for 6 more minutes.

Step 6

Drain Barilla Capellini pasta 1 minute earlier and toss with sauce over high heat.

Step 7

Stir in basil to serve.
