Marinara Sauce Recipes
Ingredients

1 | Box Barilla® Whole Grain Penne |
½ | Jar Barilla® Marinara sauce |
1 | Clove garlic |
¼ | Cup almonds |
½ | Cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese grated, divided |
3 | Cups fresh arugula |
½ | Cup + 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil |
To taste | salt and black pepper |

Method
Step 1
Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
Step 2
In a small pan, gently heat the sauce.
Step 3
Meanwhile, in a blender, add garlic, almonds, 1/4 cup cheese and arugula; pulse for 10 seconds.
Step 4
Slowly drizzle in olive oil while pulsing and season with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Pour the pesto into a large bowl.
Step 6
COOK pasta according to package directions.
Step 7
Drain, reserving ½ cup of the cooking liquid.
Step 8
Add the cooking liquid to the pesto.
Step 9
Add pasta and stir to combine.
Step 10
To serve, place a small amount of the warm Marinara sauce at the bottom of a bowl, top with a scoop of pasta and garnish with 1/4 cup cheese.
