Serves 4
4 | Ounces Barilla® Rustic Basil Pesto |
8 | Slices crusty multigrain bread |
4 | Tablespoons butter |
½ | Cup baby kale leaves |
8 | Ounces sliced Fontina Cheese |
1 | Granny smith apple, sliced thin into rounds |

Method
Step 1
Heat a 12 inch skillet over medium.
Step 2
Spread one side of each slice of bread with butter.
Step 3
On the inside of each slice, spread 1 to 2 tablespoons pesto. Top half the slices with the baby kale, Fontina cheese and sliced apple. Top with the remaining bread slices.
Step 4
Cook in skillet until well browned, add the remaining butter to the skillet and flip each sandwich. Cook until the cheese is melted and the sandwich is browned.
