Spicy Pasta Recipes
Ingredients
Serves 6
1 | Box Barilla® Love Heart Shaped Pasta |
1 | Cup Barilla® Marinara sauce |
½ | Pint cherry tomatoes, halved |
12 | Ounces sweet Italian sausage |
1 | Clove garlic, crushed |
3 | Tablespoons extra virgin olive oil |
½ | Onion, small dice |
1 | Red pepper, small dice |
1 | Yellow pepper, small dice |
2 | Calabrian peppers, sliced (optional) |
½ | Cup Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, grated |
1 | Tablespoon parsley, chopped |
To taste | Salt and black pepper |

Method
Step 1
Bring a large pot of water to a boil, cook pasta according to package directions.
Step 2
Meanwhile, in a skillet over medium heat add olive oil and cook sausage until brown.
Step 3
Add onion, peppers, tomatoes, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Sauté until soft, 2-3 minutes.
Step 5
Add Calabrian peppers to desired spice level and Marinara sauce. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes.
Step 6
Drain pasta and add to the sauce with ½ of the cheese. Mix well and top with remaining cheese. Garnish with parsley.
