At Barilla we have been working hard to create our new Blue Box, with cardboard made from virgin fibres, and many new features.
PLASTIC WINDOW, NO MORE
We decided to remove the plastic window from our blue box packaging and move towards a more sustainable solution.
This allows us to avoid using unnecessary plastic, saving 126,000 kg of plastic globally per year*. The plastic window isn't necessary, after all everyone knows what Barilla quality products look like.
*Window removal from Barilla classics in all countries except: USA, Canada, Russia. Plastic saving estimate calculated on boxes sold in 2020.
VIRGIN FIBRE CARDBOARD
At Barilla, we use the best possible quality paper in our pasta packaging, our Blue Box is made with virgin fibres.
Because the box is in direct contact with our pasta, these fibres allow us to ensure the utmost quality and safety to our consumers.
This is a crucial step in Barilla's approach towards reducing our impact on the environment.
NEW LOGO
Our logo has been redesigned to achieve a harmonious, rational and solid typographic composition.
The new oval shape is a symmetrical gestalt, with a solid and amplified typeface to stand out on our packs.
'Dal 1877' - Barilla's founding date is the clearest statement of our brand heritage and expertise.
NEW DESIGN
We are proud to present our new visual identity as part of the ongoing evolution of our company's brand: the harmonious lines and colours convey our historical roots as well as a fresh taste of modernity.
We've chosen a new intense and premium red for our logo; this expresses Barilla's love for pasta and is the perfect choice to compliment our new Barilla blue.
