1 box | Barilla Penne Lisce pasta |
1/2 cup | pancetta, diced |
2 | garlic cloves, chopped |
4 tbsp | extra virgin olive oil |
2 cups | mushrooms, sliced |
2 cups | tomato purée |
1/4 cup | basil, sliced |
1/2 cup | Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, shredded |
To taste | salt and black pepper |

Method
Step 1
Place a pot of water to boil; cook Barilla Penne Lisce pasta until al dente, according to package directions.
Step 2
Meanwhile in a skillet, sauté pancetta until rendered and crispy, discard liquid and set pancetta aside. In the same skillet, sauté garlic with olive oil for 1 minute, add mushrooms and brown, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Stir in tomatoes, season with salt and pepper and bring to simmer, cook for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Drain Barilla Penne Lisce pasta and toss with sauce and pancetta. Top with basil and cheese before serving.
