Made with al dente Barilla Spaghettoni pasta, this hearty recipe perfectly matches the rich, savoury flavours of Italian sausage to the slightly sweet profile of leeks, making it a must-have dish for any occasion. Ingredients

1 box | Barilla Spaghettoni pasta |
2 tbsp | extra virgin olive oil |
1 lb | mild Italian sausage mild, with no fennel |
1/3 cup | white wine |
4 | medium-sized leeks, diced |
To taste | sea salt and black pepper |
1 tbsp | butter |
1/2 cup | Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, grated |
1 tbsp | parsley, packed |

Method
Step 1
Remove the casings from the sausage, then crumble it and cook with olive oil over high heat until brown.
Step 2
Deglaze with wine and reduce well.
Step 3
Add leeks, lower the heat, and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Meanwhile, cook Barilla Spaghettoni pasta according to package directions, but drain 3 minutes prior to the end time.
Step 5
Reserve some cooking liquid.
Step 6
Add Barilla Spaghettoni pasta to the sauce, add cooking water, and toss over high heat until pasta is cooked and sauce thickens.
Step 7
Remove from heat and stir in butter, cheese, and parsley before serving.
