Ingredients
Serves 4
1/2 box | Barilla Pappardelle pasta, approximately 20 nests (3-4 nests per person) |
1 tbsp | extra virgin olive oil |
1 | chili pepper, seeded and chopped |
1 | garlic clove |
150 g extra large | shrimp, peeled and deveined |
1/4 cup (190 g) jar | basil pesto |
To taste | salt and pepper |
1 tbsp | parsley, chopped |
Fresh basil leaves (optional) | |
1/4 cup | walnuts or pecans (optional) |

Method
Chef's tip
This recipe can also be made using Barilla Tagliatelle pasta.
Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Step 2
Heat oil in a large non-stick skillet set over medium heat. Add garlic clove and chopped chili; sauté for 1-2 minutes or until fragrant.
Step 3
Add shrimp; sauté for 2-3 minutes or until mostly pink. Remove garlic clove. Stir in pesto.
Step 4
Meanwhile, boil Barilla Pappardelle pasta until al dente, for 7 minutes. Drain, reserving some of the cooking water.
Step 5
Toss Barilla Pappardelle pasta into skillet, along with cooking water as needed to loosen pasta. Stir in parsley and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve garnished with basil and walnuts.
