Easy Gluten Free Puttanesca Pasta

A delicious gluten free variation of a simple, delicious Italian dish, this recipe pairs gluten free penne with olives, capers, red pepper flakes in a delicious tomato sauce.



Ingredients for 4 people

  • 350g Barilla® Gluten Free Penne
  • 1 cloves garlic peeled and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes or to taste
  • 2 anchovies, oil packed
  • 60ml tablespoons extra virgin olive oil divided
  • 300g can Italian tomatoes peeled and crushed
  • 60g kalamata olives pitted and halved
  • 1 teaspoon capers drained
  • 6 leaves Italian parsley chopped
  • 60g romano cheese grated (optional)

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil

    Meanwhile sauté garlic, chili flakes and anchovies in olive oil for 1-2 minutes or until garlic is slightly yellow in color

    Add the tomatoes, olives and capers, bring to a simmer

    Season the sauce with salt
  5. 5
    Cook pasta according to package directions
  6. 6
    Drain pasta and toss with the sauce in a large mixing bowl

    Stir in parsley and romano cheese (optional) before serving
