320 g (11,28oz) Barilla® elbow macaroni or other short pasta
5 g Vegetal butter (or margarine)
20 g Panko
10 g Gomasio powder
to taste Salt
30 g Vegetal butter (or margarine)
20 g Flour 00 (all purpose)
500 ml Vegetal milk (unsweet)
3 g Mild paprika
2 g Garlic powder
20 g Yeast flakes
40 g Carrots purée
to taste Pepper

Method

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium heat, add vegetal butter and breadcrumbs and stir until they turn golden brown, 1-2 minutes. Put aside and add gomasio powder and salt once cooled.

Boil a pot of water, add salt, and cook the Macaroni according to package directions until al dente.

In a separate pot on low heat, melt the vegetal butter, add the flour, and yeast flakes, and mix well to avoid clumps. Cook for 2 minutes to obtain a ""Roux"" sauce. Gradually add the vegetal milk until a creamy and consistent sauce is formed, 3-5 minutes.

Add pepper, paprika, and garlic powder and stir well. Adjust with salt to taste.

Prepare the carrots purée by cooking carrots in salted water, drain, and blend until creamy. Mix with the vegan cheese béchamel. Pour pasta into the carrots sauce and mix well on low heat for one minute
