Ingredients

Serves 5

1 box Barilla Lasagne pasta
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
454 g ground beef
2 jars traditional sauce
2 cups water
2 cups mozzarella, shredded
To taste salt and black pepper
8 fresh basil leaves, julienned

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Step 2

Meanwhile, in a large skillet, sauté ground beef in olive oil until browned and crumbled.

Step 3

Add sauce, 2 cups water and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 4

In a greased 13x9 inch baking dish, pour in 1 ½ cups of the meat sauce, and top with 3 sheets of Barilla Lasagne pasta.

Step 5

Top the next layer with 1 ½ cups of meat sauce, a sprinkle of cheese and some basil.

Step 6

Continue for 3 more layers, ending with a layer of Barilla Lasagne pasta.

Step 7

Cover the baking dish with foil and cook in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Remove the foil and top with the remaining cheese, then place back in the oven to melt.

Step 8

Once the lasagne is out of the oven, top with basil then let it rest for 15-20 minutes before serving.
