Perfect for ...
What is Penne Pasta? Penne pasta is one of the classic pasta shapes. Al Bronzo’s Penne Rigate has been redesigned with defined grooves on the pasta surface, making it ideal for capturing sauces. Penne means “pen” and rigate means “striped” in Italian and refers to the ridges on the outside of the pasta. Known for its versatility, Penne Rigate pairs well with Bolognese sauces, vegetable-based sauces, or cream sauces. Penne is also perfect for baked pasta casserole dishes also known as “pasta al forno.” Looking for penne pasta recipes? Check out our recipe section.

Cooking & Measuring
Measuring your pasta
Our Chef’s tip
Add a generous pinch of sea salt to the cooking water to enhance the pasta’s flavor.
Stir your pasta for 1 min after putting the pasta in the water.
Avoid adding oil to the water as it prevents sauce from clinging to the pasta.
Do not rinse your pasta as it removes helpful starch that allows your sauce to cling to your pasta.
Always reserve a cup of pasta water to add to your pasta sauce. It helps bring the flavors together in your pasta dish.
