Perfect for ...

What is Conchiglie? Conchiglie means “shells" in Italian. Conchiglie is a pasta shaped like a conch shell which is perfect for holding more sauce. Al Bronzo Conchiglie differs from traditional shells pasta in that it features elegantly textured ridges made with Barilla's innovated bronze dies. This makes it ideal for capturing sauces on the entire surface of the pasta, inside and out.

Try this pasta shape with a Bolognese sauce, your favorite mac & cheese recipe, or in a pasta salad. Check out our favorite Conchiglie pasta recipes on this page or in our recipe section.

Cooking & Measuring

Measuring your pasta

Our Chef’s tip

Add a generous pinch of sea salt to the cooking water to enhance the pasta’s flavor.

Stir your pasta for 1 min after putting the pasta in the water.

Avoid adding oil to the water as it prevents sauce from clinging to the pasta.

Do not rinse your pasta as it removes helpful starch that allows your sauce to cling to your pasta.

Always reserve a cup of pasta water to add to your pasta sauce. It helps bring the flavors together in your pasta dish.

Visit our Help and Support page for more helpful cooking tips.

Bring 4 - 6 quarts of water to a rolling boil, add salt to taste.

Add contents of package to boiling water. Stir gently.

Return to a boil. For authentic "al dente" pasta, boil uncovered, stirring occasionally for 16 minutes. For more tender pasta, boil an additional 1 minute.

Remove from heat. Drain well.

Serve immediately with your favorite Barilla sauce.
