with Marinara Sauce, Thyme & Italian Sausage

Ingredients for 7 people
  • 1 box Barilla® ProteinPLUS® Penne
  • 1 jar Barilla® Marinara Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 clove Garlic Chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Thyme Chopped
  • 1 pound Hot Italian Sausage
  • 1/2 cup White Wine
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Romano Cheese Grated

    Bring a large pot of water to a boil

    Sauté chopped garlic and thyme with oil over medium heat until the garlic turns light yellow
  3. 3
    Add sausage and sauté for 5 minutes or until browned and cooked through, breaking into pieces

    Deglaze with white wine; reduce well
  5. 5
    Add Marinara Sauce, a cup of water and simmer for ten minutes or until the sauce is at the right consistency

    Cook pasta according to directions

    Drain and toss with the sauce
  8. 8
    Sprinkle with cheese before serving
